The weavers

From the loom to your hands, nothing in between.

Nesavupuram means the weaving town. We grew up in one. The cottons here come from families we have known for years, bought at the price the weaver names, and sold with the weaver’s name on the tag.

pit loom
Every saree here is woven on a pit loom, the weaver's feet working the treadles below the floor.
yarn count
We tell you the count. 60s cotton is crisp and sturdy; 80s and 100s are finer and fall softer.
dyed first
Checks and stripes are dyed in the yarn before weaving. Sungudi dots are tied by hand and dyed after.
How ordering works

For now, ordering is a conversation.

The online shop opens later this year. Until then we sell the way the weaving towns always have: you ask, we show, you decide.

Start on WhatsAppWe reply between 9 am and 8 pm IST. Tamil or English, both fine.

Notes from customers

What they wrote back.

Messages sent to us after the saree arrived, shared with permission. Each one sits beside the saree it is about.

01 / 03
The checks are exactly the colours in the photo. My mother asked which shop, then asked for the number.
